European Energy Regulators and REMIT: Less Carrot, More Stick

The EU’s Regulation on Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) has been a talking point for a while now. Intended to protect wholesale gas and electricity markets from abuse, officially it has been in force since December 2011. But as with any incoming regulation, it is taking a while for the various aspects to be defined and put into practice.
